Better Beginnings 5-Star Provider
- Better Beginnings is a program of the Arkansas Department of Education Office of Early Childhood focused on giving children the best quality care.
- “Research shows that maximum brain development happens during the first five years of life – before children are ‘officially’ in school. We want children to have the best start possible and the opportunity to start kindergarten with a solid foundation from which to continue their education,” said Tonya Williams, Director of the Office of Early Childhood. Better Beginnings early childhood educators prepare children for kindergarten with positive experiences, research-based curriculum, and learning through play.
Better Beginnings gives childcare providers a star rating, indicating the facility’s quality level. The star ratings signify the level of quality for all Arkansas-licensed childcare providers. Better Beginnings providers reach and maintain star levels through continuous training and program improvements. Earned star ratings are based on:- Increased qualifications and training for staff and administrators
- Increased standards for classroom quality
- Daily activities that address learning goals for children
- Written curriculum plans
For 60+ years, Fayetteville Creative School has strived for excellence and is dedicated to our students. Our 5-star rating reinforces this commitment.
Fayetteville Creative School Turns 60 Years Old (March 2025)
A good preschool experience will help your child develop a positive attitude and an excitement about school that will set the stage for years to come. We have been doing this for a long time! Fayetteville Creative School has been a staple of NWA education since 1965! As of March 2025, we are 60 years strong...with more to come!
At Fayetteville Creative School, each class has 2 teachers and offers a variety of developmentally appropriate activities for the children. Through art projects, books, games, and hands-on discovery, our teachers strive to make learning fun. Our preschool curriculum is play-based learning in a warm, supportive atmosphere. Our fantastic classroom student-to-teacher ratio ranges from 8:2 - 12:2 for preschool classes (depending on the classroom's size), and 16:2 for kindergarten. Enrichment learning for all students includes dynamic classes in Spanish and Music classes weekly.
Our kindergarten program utilizes Benchmark for Phonics, K-2 RISE for Literacy, Science of Reading, and the Ready Math Curriculum.
Fayetteville Creative School is licensed by the State of Arkansas under the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. We offer a quality education for 3-year-old preschool children through kindergarten-aged students. All children must be the appropriate age for the class in which they wish to be enrolled. Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, the determining date for class placement is August 1. Under our guidelines, as children progress, they will qualify for the public school attendance age requirements. Putting children in the appropriate class is our first concern.
